Makayla was born and raised in North Carolina, where her early years were shaped by a strong interest in storytelling, design, and human behavior. After earning a degree in Marketing and Communications, she began her career working with mid-sized digital agencies and later held a senior branding role at a national SaaS firm—giving her firsthand experience in positioning B2B and tech-driven brands for scalable growth.

In 2016, after relocating to Colorado, Makayla founded Colorado Networks USA Inc., initially focusing on data security consulting. The move was both personal and professional: Colorado is where she met her now-fiancé, and it also became the launchpad for her entrepreneurial journey.

With growing client demand and a keen eye for market trends, Makayla evolved the business to include brand strategy consulting, recognizing a major gap in how tech and service businesses approached customer perception and identity

In 2020, Makayla brought the company to Chicago, Illinois, following her fiancé’s relocation. It was here that she fully re-established the firm with a dual-service model: data security consulting and full-service brand strategy consulting—a unique pairing that gives clients both technical protection and powerful market positioning.
